Answers to typical questions about recitals, preparation, scheduling, and family participation.
Lake Cook Music Studio holds recitals several times per year—typically seasonal showcases in spring and winter, plus occasional informal performances. Calendars are shared months ahead, with rehearsal schedules and sign-up deadlines communicated via email and the parent portal.
All students are welcome to participate, from beginners to advanced. We recommend discussing repertoire with the instructor so pieces suit skill level. Participation supports progress, confidence, and community; exemptions available for scheduling or performance anxiety concerns.
Preparation includes selecting suitable repertoire, completing teacher-approved practice plans, attending dress rehearsals, and working on stage presence. Instructors provide coaching, run-throughs, and timelines so students arrive confident and ready on performance day.
Yes—our program offers ensemble nights, duets, and chamber groups in addition to solos. Group pieces develop listening, collaboration, and timing skills; instructors help form groups and choose repertoire that fits combined abilities.
We offer professional-quality audio and video recordings, plus candid and staged photos. Families can purchase keepsake packages; complimentary event highlights may be shared on our secure studio channels with permission.
Sign-up is easy: watch studio emails for registration windows or speak with your teacher directly. We post sign-up forms in the parent portal and accommodate repertoire approvals, technical needs, and special requests whenever possible.
